LIfe Imitating Art Imitating Life

Sometimes coincidences can be uncanny. In Perfect Circle, the first published (2008) novel by Carlos J Cortes, the plot centres on a mining experiment: a narrow bore tube through which to drop a manned capsule.

Today, the rescue of the Chilean miners, which is now in its final stages, follows exactly the procedure the author described.

I love when life imitates art
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve drawn a character out of my head, then saw that very character walking around in real life. It’s always bizarre.
The last time was last year — I saw a girl who so resembled Ellie McDoodle that I wrote her a note. This was at a Volleyball game at a middle school in a city near mine.
I tore up the note… didn’t want to mix my daughter’s sports with restraining orders or notions about some creepy woman who can’t keep her worlds separate.
Thanks for sharing this — what a great connection.
